Perennial herb, up to 400 mm tall. Tunicate corm 15-20 mm in diameter. Outer tepal limb spotted throughout; inner tepals 9-20 mm long. Style crests 3-6 mm long.
The native range of this species is S. Botswana to N. & Central Cape Prov. It is a tuberous geophyte and grows primarily in the subtropical biome.
