Almost perfect Sail Barge
Arcofzen· Review provided by LEGO · October 16, 2024
I will preface this by saying I purchased this on day one so was lucky enough to receive the Luke's Lightsaber which helped offset the cost.
This was a set I was really looking forward to building and as soon as it arrived I was keen to get started! I will say that the barge is magnificent. Its a good size, the build is fun and the finished result is excellent and very detailed. It absolutely mirrors the original. The fact it has a wonderful interior is just the icing on the cake.
You'll notice I didn't give this five stars and its for two reasons why: The cost. Most people simply can't afford a £430 Sail Barge that really needs another set (Skiff & Sarlacc pit) And two the minifigs. They are are mixed bag of perfect and mediocre. And when spending over £400 I want perfection.
So in summery try and get this at a discount or maybe sell some of the minifigs to offset the cost. But if you're a massive fan then its a must buy!
It’s good but not great

So despite this being a major cash grab from our LEGO beholder, it’s a good set. With that being said the whole GEF purchase many people didn’t get (I got mine) is so silly that they allowed the “ouT oF STock” thing to happen. I am more of a collector then a builder and I’ve to display my box’s just as much as a lover of LEGO who builds their sets. Unfortunately my box was received extremely damaged and abused. Lego stated that they do not intend their box’s/packaging to arrive in a good condition and is used as a form to protect they set its self. I can understand this but seriously? You mean the box where you spend god knows how much to have such lovely printing and presentation? Huh excuses like always. Offered a mere 1000 vip points for my issue. Sigh on to another issue. The set is a great build but not worth the money asking. Mini fig selection is great but the detail is trash just like Lego usually does to us Star Wars fans. Guess we’ll just keep gobbling it up as they shove it down our throats. Care little bit more Lego to us Star Wars fans. Much love-JR
Good, not great

Overall I’m happy with the set as a whole. Disappointed with the packaging of the sails as they were extremely crumpled and are creased.

A few pros:

Looks great on display.
Good fun, build.
Nice (lacking) selection of mini-figs with nice detail.
The barge has a decent detailed Interior.

Cons:

Certainly $50-$100 overpriced for the build size and piece count.
Could use a few more mini-figs especially with the price we are paying.
The lack of care the put into packaging the sails.

Overall, the issues with this set easily could have been resolved if the $80 (insane) sarlac/skiff set was included with this set. The added piece count, mini-figs and build structures would certainly make this a $500 set.

All in all the only reason I bought the set was for the GWP. If there’s no GWP I woulda waited to snag this when it went on sale. Still a solid set though.
Very Brown and Dented
Jprose30· Review provided by LEGO · October 13, 2024
I ordered this set from the Lego website as soon as it became available to insiders. Every time I order a collectors set from the website, it shows up with a dent in the product box. The shipping box had no damage, which means whoever prepared this box to ship saw that it had a dent and decided to send it anyway. I don't know what the shipping warehouse is doing, but it's very problematic. For those who collect these as collectors items, a dented box is painful.

As for the set itself, it is very large and brown with limited variation or interest on the sides. Inside is a little better with rooms that were shown in the movie. The mini figures that come with it are great. I guess the goal is to get play out of the mini figures instead of the barge itself. Looks like they learned their lesson from the AT-AT that had shockingly few minifigs.
