Ecotrays

Ecotrays are:
Economical: 20 plants comparable to the size one gets in 2L bags at a low cost per plant. Because of the deep root ball, they establish more easily than plugs or six packs.

Ergonomical: One person can carry 40 plants (a tray in each hand) making for labour saving and easy handling.

Eco-friendly: The tray itself is made of recyclable plastic, less fertilizer and water are used in their production and less diesel is used on transport if one calculates it on a per plant basis making for a smaller carbon footprint.

To get the full story and read the Ecotray (TM) brochure, click on the images below to enlarge, and scroll down if you are already familiar with this product to see pictures of the plants themselves.

Aloe 'Bushbaby' and Aloe rex

Sunbird superior hybrid aloes offer home gardeners and landscapers new and unique high performance, sustainable and water wise gardening options. These plants have spectacular flowers in a range of colours, dramatic foliage and architectural shapes that will complement any garden or landscaping design. This unique collection of premium water-wise aloe hybrid cultivars ranges from small and dainty flowering pot sized plants to those that will grow into massive, stemmed specimens – all adorned with a stunning flower display irresistible to birds and insects alike.

Size: Small

Colour:  Yellow

Flower time: Late Summer to Winter

Stem: Bush

Frost tolerance: Low

This hybrid produces a long-lasting supply of beautiful yellow flowers frm March onwards. The plant itself is a striking green with well-structured rosettes. It will also bush (produce multiple rosettes). A mature plant is capable of flowering for 6 months without a break in flower production. This characteristic places it in the “Superior Hybrid” category, and makes it a sought after landscaping subject, for group or border plantings. ‘Bush Baby Yellow’ does equally well as a container subject or when planted in an open garden.

Price: R68.25 ex VAT & ex delivery for a 20cm pot.

Please allow 1 week lead time for larger orders.

This gentleman would like to introduce to the astounding 'Aloe rex'. Read on!

- It is a cross between Aloe dichotoma (kokerboom) and Aloe barbarae, but much better performing in the Western & Southern Cape, much more rain tolerant

- It can reach a height of more that 6 meters. It is relative fast growing and starts to branch at about 1, 5 meters. It usually starts flowering when the first branching takes place.

- In the drier areas the leaves tend to have a bluish tint which gives it a more attractive appearance.

- Two sizes are available from us: Stunning 20kg bags about 1.2 m high @ R190,- excl. VAT and delivery and 6kg bags about 50cm high @ R95,- excl. VAT and delivery.

- Depending on order volumes there may be a 1 week lead time to deliver stock, but it will be well worth the little wait. Just look at the final effect:
