Description: Tree 8 - 20 m tall, slightly buttressed. Leaf lamina (10.5 -) 18 - 25 (- 50) X (4.5 -) 7.5 - 9 (- 18.5) cm, elliptic- oblong or elliptic-lanceolate, apex short-pointed, obtuse, subacute or rarely short acuminate, glabrous, coriaceous, crenate-dentate with blunt, gland-tipped teeth. Flowers cream to yellow, in pendulous, branched panicles. Capsule 2.25 - 3.25 X 3 - 4 cm, subglobose, densely fine yellow, stellate-pubescent, barely grooved or indented. Seeds broadly oblong-ellipsoid, mottled chesnut-brown and fawn, caruncle 10 X 8 mm, deltoid.
