  Description: Annual herbs, 30-75 cm tall, viscid, strongly aromatic; stems erect, terete, covered with long spreading, white, pilose hairs and shorter stipitate glands. Leaves alternate, 1-10 x 0.3-3 cm, the lower ones pinnatifid with broadly elliptic or oblanceolate terminal segments and 2-3 oblong lateral lobes on each side; upper leaves oblong or obovate, dentate, acute at the apex, auriculate and interruptedly decurrent at the base with 2-3 linear lobes on each side of the stem, sparsely covered on both surfaces with long white villous hairs and numerous stipitate glands. Heads several (upto 15) in terminal corymbs; phyllaries 1-1.25 cm broad. Involucral bracts 3-4 seriate, linear-lanceolate, 2.5-7 mm long, pubescent and glandular. Flowers pale mauve, female corollas 4.5-5 mm long, glabrous; corollas of hermaphrodite flowers 5-5.5 mm long, lobes usually glandular. Achenes 0.75-1 mm long, dark brown, subcompressed, sparsely sericeous; pappus white, 4-4.5 mm long.
