Oh yes I was right about the bracts! Looks like this one has hope!

Default Aerangis Mani's Star

Here is a hybrid of Aerangis biloba x citrata. This photo was taken in November 2007 - plant carried three inflorescences, each with 16 flowers.

Our plant is grown bare-root (with a bit of sphagnum moss) in a plastic mesh basket. Aerangis culture is similar to the vandae, but they are grown in something less than bright light (approx 2500 fc). Take care to keep water from remaining in the 'crown'.

Seems to take forever to bloom but the wait is worth it. The wonderfully fragrant flowers bloom from the tip of the inflorescence back.

Be sure to post your photos. Happy growing!

I think I'm dreaming but I seem to find that the bracts on the spikes are shifting outward as compared to before...

Maybe even just a slight shift will help?

If the bracts are moving into newer positions, I'd say you're doing okay!

Thank but never say never! Actually, the previous bloom (in May) had four inflorescences! It is definitely ALL in the culture.

With a little tlc (and luck), you CAN do this and more!

Won't be long now! I'm eager to see the flowers. BTW, they have a delightful fragrance too.
