Common Name The Extended Bonatea [refers to the lower outstretched petals]

Found in Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Cape Province, Natal and Transvaal South Africa in open grasslands at elevations of 150 to 1800 meters as a small to large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with cylindrical, wooly tubers giving rise to an erect leafy stem carrying many, narrowly oblong, withering by flowering time leaves that blooms in the late winter and spring on a terminal, 8 to 24" [20 to 60 cm] long, erect, densely several to many [9 to 30] flowered inflorescence.
