Found in Southern Cape Province South Africa on damp sandstone in seepage areas at elevations of 10 to 1100 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestro-lithophyte with 2, cauline, alternate, lanceolate, glabrous to sparsely hirsute leaves that blooms in the winter to early spring on a terminal, erect, 1 to occasionally 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate to lanceolate bracts
