Common Name Zeyher's Schizochilus [German Botanical collector 1800's]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Cape Province, Natal, Orange Free State and Transvaal South Africa as well as Swaziland in wet grasslands at elevations of sealevel to 2200 meters as a miniature to just large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with cauline leaves grading into floral bracts above that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, rarely dense, to 30 flowered inflorescence carrying strongly sweet vanilla scented flowers.
