This plant has definitely earned it's common name of the "Dead Stick" plant. Hailing from boggy areas of Madagascar, these plants tan up from intense sun which cause them to blend in with the trees they grow on. It is believed they have evolved this trait to avoid being eaten! They are a bit slow growing, but it is worth the wait to let these drape and fill up a hanging basket.
Care:
These need a very bright light to grow well. Brighter light will cause these to tan up to a deep purple! Lower light conditions will cause foliage to revert to green. The soil can go slightly dry between waterings. This may be roughly 10-14 days depending on your home environment. When repotting, use a coarse cacti soil that will drain water well.
