Plant Care

Watering:
Ficus elastica 'Tineke' prefers to be kept moderately moist but not soggy. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering. Water thoroughly and let the excess water drain out of the pot. Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water, as this can lead to root rot. We recommend measuring the moisture of the soil with a moisture meter.

Light:
This plant prefers bright, indirect light but can also tolerate some shade. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves. A north-facing window is a good spot for it to receive bright, indirect light.

Fertilizing:
Ficus elastica 'Tineke' benefits from regular fertilization during the growing season (spring and summer). You can use a balanced, water-soluble or liquid fertilizer once a month or a slow-release fertilizer every 3-4 months. Follow the instructions on the package for the correct dosage.

Repotting:
Ficus elastica 'Tineke' does not need to be repotted often and can be kept in the same pot for several years. When the plant outgrows its current pot or becomes root-bound, you can repot it into a slightly larger container with fresh, well-draining soil. Repot in the spring or summer when the plant is actively growing.
