The leaves of Streblus asper grow alternately on the stem (spirally arranged).
The leaf is simple, bright green-coloured above and paler beneath. The leaf is coriaceous and rough, scabrid on both sides (short hairs).
The leaves have a 0.5 cm long petiole.
The leaf of Streblus asper is 6-10 cm long and 3-5 cm wide. The shape of the blade is elliptic or obovate, the apex is acuminate, the base is rounded and the margins are serrate.
The venation of the leaf is reticulate with a prominent midrib.
