The plant is also known as Dutchman’s pipe. It’s a woody vine, that produces flowers shaped like curved pipes and large heart-shaped leaves. It usually grows 10-15 feet long. This plant is attractive to bees, Polydamas swallowtail butterflies and birds.

Please note: This is a nonnative species, the Pipevine Swallowtail CANNOT be raised on it. Only use within the local South Florida area. Most pipevines that the Polydamas swallowtail can safely eat will kill the Pipevine Swallowtail and vice versa.
