Short etymology:
Gk. ana = again; agallein = to delight in or anagelis, anagalao = to laugh. Possibly because these flowers open whenever the sun strikes them or alluding to its herbalmedicinal value said to alleviate depression and many other conditions. Common name ‘pimpernel’.
