Zmijski jezik, zmijski jednolistak Opis vrste Jedna od interesantnijih vrsta iz roda papratnjača. Iz kratkog puzećeg rizoma izrastaju adventivni koreni i listovi, i to svake godine po jedan list, koji sporo raste a iznad peteljke se diferencira na sterilni i fertilni deo. Sterilni deo je zelen, nalik na jajolik ili duguljast, po obodu ceo list, sa uzdužnom mrežastom nervaturom. Fertilni klasić je dug 2-5 cm a širok 3-4 mm, spljošten, sa 12-40 uronjenih sporangija sa svake strane. Sporangije imaju višeslojnu opnu koja se poprečno pucajući otvara i baca spore (izospore). Protalijum je dvopolan, bez hlorofila, s mikorizom. Biljka se u vegetativnom stadijumu može pronaći od VI do II, može biti visoka između 5 i 30 cm. Cirkumpolarna vrsta vlažnih livada (Molinietalia), šuma uz reke, trave šumskih proplanaka i planinskih livada (Arrhenaterion). U visinu se penje do 1700 m. Retka i ugrožena, u nižim krajevima postglacijalno-reliktna biljka (u Vojvodini je u zadnjih sto godina nađeno svega nekoliko primeraka). |
