Ligustrum Ovalifolium ‘Aureum’, commonly known as Golden Privet is a large, bushy evergreen shrub with oval shaped bright yellow leaves with a dark green coloured centre creating a bright bush or hedging plant. In the months of July to August the Ligustrum Ovalifolium ‘Aureum’ blooms small panicles of white flowers which add that extra little interest to this shrub.
Often planted in groups to form a dense bushy/screen although can be planted and grown on its own to form a lovely specimen garden plant. Suitable for a variety of locations, garden types and planting schemes makes this shrub a great all rounder, suitable for everyone!
Ligustrum Ovalifolium ‘Aureum’ care
Plant the Ligustrum Ovalifolium ‘Aureum’ in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden with moist, well drained soil where it will thrive. A very easy to grow shrub with minimal pruning makes it a good choice for beginner gardeners, still beautiful that expert gardeners can enjoy growing. This Ligustrum will naturally form a lovely framework however may need some (if any) pruning in early spring, by lightly pruning any dead or damaged branches, or any which begin to grow out of the natural framework.
