Microchloa indica is a species of herb in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Cerrado, Paraná, Tocantins, Pantanal, Distrito Federal, Pampa, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, GoiáS, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, SãO Paulo, and Rio Grande Do Sul. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1.2 m.
