Ceropegia stapeliiformis is an interesting stem-succulent from South Africa, in the Apocynaceae family, with fantastic flowers. It is an easy succulent plant to grow, even on the windowsill.

Plant care

Maximum growth: 50 to 200 cm (19.68 to 78.74 in.).
Foliage: evergreen
Type of growth: climbing; creeping; hanging.
Flowering season: Spring to early Summer.
Flower color: spotted: burgundy red with white fuzzy hair in the middle.
Flower size: 50 to 70 mm (1.96 to 2.75 in.).
Fragrance: pheromones, trapping insects (mainly flies that feed with the nectar).
Temperature: room temperature: ~20°C (68°F); it can also stay outside during summertime.
Light: indirect: 70% / sunlight: 30%
Growing medium: cactus soil 70% / perlite 20% (preferred for good aeration of the roots) / sand/gravel 10% (preferred for good aeration of the roots)
Watering: depends on the temperature. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. During the spring, summer and early fall, the plant is watered regularly, depending on the temperature. At the end of November the water is limited to approximately once a week until about January. During the winter begins the winter rest period for the Ceropegia radicans. During this period the watering stops for 8 weeks. This period allow the plant to remain thirsty and water slightly. Starting by spring again, repeat regular watering.
Fertilizing: each month from April to August with half the dose of a general liquid houseplant fertilizer.
