Description

Hoodia currorii subsp. lugardii also know as ‘Ghaap’ is an erect stemmed succulent perenial, covered with tiny prickly spines. Hoodia is the largest growing species in the carion flower group. It is the only Hoodia to grow in northern Limpopo, but an also be foundĀ  in parts of southern Zimbabwe and Botswana. Some specimens have been found to grow over 2 meters tall. They are slow growers and thus idea as a feature potted plant. They prefer sandy soil and only require watering once every 3 to 4 weeks. Be careful not to over-water as it might develop root rot and die. Seed grown (open ground) – approx. 3 year old specimens for sale, pictured here in a 15cm pot. limited to 1 per customer!
