hello guys! i recently received a Senecio Barbertonicus as a gift
i dont have that much exp with succulents,i have several plant stands with leds(not enough sunlight sadly)
this senecio im pretty sure didnt had these purple colors with it when it arrived
it is only on the new growth,im not sure if its because it is under very bright light(4000 kelvin,40 watts)
the stem looks fine, however since i don't know anything about this particular plant i wanted to check if the coloring is alright
also i need some help about how much water i need to give this plant! thanks!

What a great plant! The red is a form of stress caused by the intense light. Its not bad stress though - some people do this on purpose.

That I don't know. If its getting enough sun to turn the leaves red, it will need more water. But it also could be an indication the bottom of the plant never gets any sun or it could be an indication of the growth habit of this plant. I've never had that particular Senecio but other Senecios I have do seem to need more water. How do the leaves feel? I often judge water needs by the crispness or softness of leaves.

Water until some comes out the drain hole than check to make sure the soil absorbed the water. If its in a plastic pot, you can tell by before and after weight changes. If you can't tell, use a bamboo skewer. Push it down to the the bottom of the pot, leave it for a minute and pull it out. Feel along the length of the skewer for wet/dry spots in the soil. If the soil is wet, wait to see if the bottom leaves get a little more solid - it may take a day. If there are dry spots, water again, test again.... Sometimes soil becomes "hydrophobic" when it gets too dry. Repeated watering and testing or just soaking the pot in a sink of water up to its brim will help the soil become absorbent again.
