Polyscias guilfoylei ‘Blackie’ – Black Aralia (email for availability)
This tropical plant can be grown outside in filtered light or as a house plant. It has very interesting very dark greenish blue leaves that are dimpled and curly. I would recommend this plant for beginner gardners.
Winter dormant. Check back in spring.
Description
Black Aralia forms crooked trunks and interesting shapes. It is great material for containers or as a Bonsai tree. The curly dimpled leaves are super unique and remind me of kale!
We grow them outside at our nursery in south Florida but they can also be kept indoors with good conditions. We prefer to grow them in bright shade but they can also adopt to direct sun.
