NORTHERN SEA OATS

This Native ornamental grass has lovely seed heads that flutter in the breeze from Summer through Winter. It is one of the most shade tolerant of the grasses and provides sustenance for a great many species. Several Skippers rely on Chasmanthium as a larval host. Many birds and small mammals feed on the seeds and utilize the plant for cover and nesting. The seed heads are also great in dried arrangements.
