Abstract :
The characterization, composition and structure of plant species associated with a Cupressus lusitanica plantation, present in a property of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia of Tunja-Boyaca at 5[degrees]33'29.0" N and 73[degrees]21'37.0, was achieved. "OR. The data was taken following the Braun-Blanquet methodology, with some modifications; the existing vegetation was quantified and characterized within an area of 1,225 [m.sup.2], divided into 5 plots of 16 [m.sup.2], 81 [m.sup.2], 324 [m.sup.2], 625 [m.sup.2] and 1,225 [m.sup.2]. There were 943 individuals distributed in 47 species, 42 genera and 21 families, being the family Poaceae the most diversified with 14 species distributed in 13 genera and Asteraceae with 8 species distributed in 6 genera. The Simpson index showed dominance in all the plots, being the most representative the 1225 [m.sup.2] with 0.9703, and the most diverse in species according to the Shannon-Wiener index with 3.64 (H '), of the same way that for the Margalef index it presents a high biodiversity of species with 8,017; followed by the plot of 625 [m.sup.2] with 7,712 and 6,023 that of 324 [m.sup.2], with a low biodiversity of 16 [m.sup.2] with 2,834. The herbaceous habit was the most predominant with 89.7% of the individuals, followed by the shrub with 10.07% and the lianas with 0.21%. Species with different types and way of life belonging to high Andean forest and herbaceous-woody succession were found, which due to their life history features as a short cycle provide biomass and high seed production, therefore, they are optimal in ecological restoration processes: herbs (Agrostis boyacensis, Calamagrostis effusa, Rhynchospora nervosa) and shrubs (Baccharis bogotensis, Baccharis latifolia and Croton funckianus). Se realizo la caracterizacion, composicion y estructura de especies vegetales en una plantacion de Cupressus lusitanica, presente en un predio de la Universidad Pedagogica y Tecnologica de Colombia de Tunja-Boyaca a 5[degrees]33'29.0" N y 73[degrees]21'37.0"O. Los datos se tomaron siguiendo la metodologia de Braun-Blanquet, con algunas modificaciones; se cuantifico y caracterizo la vegetacion existente dentro de un area de 1.225 [m.sup.2], dividida en 5 parcelas de 16 [m.sup.2], 81 [m.sup.2], 324 [m.sup.2], 625 [m.sup.2] y 1.225 [m.sup.2]. Se registraron 943 individuos distribuidos en 47 especies, 42 generos y 21 familias, siendo la familia Poaceae la mas diversificada con 14 especies distribuidas en 13 generos y Asteraceae con 8 especies distribuidas en 6 generos. El indice de Simpson mostro una dominancia en todas las parcelas, siendo la mas representativa la de 1225 [m.sup.2] con 0,9703, y la mas diversa en especies segun el indice de Shannon-Wiener con 3,64 (H'), de la misma manera que para el indice de Margalef presenta una biodiversidad de especies alta con el 8,017; seguida por la parcela de 625 [m.sup.2] con 7,712 y 6,023 la de 324 [m.sup.2], registrando baja biodiversidad la de 16 [m.sup.2] con 2,834. El habito herbaceo fue el mas predominante con el 89,7% de los individuos, seguido por el arbustivo con el 10,07% y las lianas con un 0,21%. Se encontraron especies con diferentes tipos y forma de vida pertenecientes a bosque alto andino y a sucesion herbazal-lenosa, que por sus rasgos de historia de vida como ciclo corto aportan biomasa y alta produccion de semillas, por ende, son optimas en procesos de restauracion ecologica: Agrostis boyacensis, Calamagrostis effusa, Rhynchospora nervosa, Baccharis bogotensis, Baccharis latifolia y Croton funckianus.
