Bright red pom-poms of color make Zinnia Lilliput perfect for your garden, containers and along walkways. Grown from Zinnia seeds, this semi-dwarf annual with brilliant red blooms, about 2-3", makes a great addition to any flower garden and bouquets. Zinnias are prolific bloomers, and they establish rapidly from flower seed, as well. In just 6 - 8 weeks Zinnia flowers will begin to bloom! This early-flowering red Zinnia Lilliput blooms from early summer until the first frost. They make very nice cut flowers, too.

In humid regions, you have to be careful with mildew. One way to help prevent mildew is to water from ground level instead of sprinklers in order to keep the foliage as dry as possible. Space Zinnia plants adequately as well to maintain good air circulation. Zinnia flower care includes deadheading the spent blooms.

If by chance you find any of your plants get powdery type mildew on the leaves, first be sure you only water, if you can, in the morning so they have all day to dry. Also try watering right at ground level. Here is a recipe that works well if you notice a powdery substance on your leaves. Prevent and Kill Blight & Powdery Mildew with Baking Soda;
Try this but no guarantees, it has worked well for me in the past.
Mix 3 tablespoons baking soda with 1 gallon of water. Mix in 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or cooking oil of your choice. This helps the spray to stick to the leaves.
Mix in 2 drops of dish soap to help emulsify (mix) everything. I recommend using a gentle dish soap. Shake well the gallon container, and then spray on tops and bottoms of leaves till dripping. Apply that amount one time each week for 3 weeks.
