About Ficus triangularis 'Variegata'
Did you know that all plants in the Ficus genus produce figs? In fact, the word Ficus quite literally means figs! Even cooler, all figs are pollinated by tiny wasps that use the fruits as a safe place to raise their young. 🐝 Ficus plants also contain latex which emerges as a milky sap when twigs are broken. This latex makes them toxic, so be sure to keep a close eye out if you have children or pets!

Care plan for plantID? Wondering if I’ve got the plantID right with Greg on this one. Greg says Peperomia. Bought this little guy off a clearance rack for low light houseplants, but there was no info attached to the plant beyond that! I know baby rubber plants can be variegated, but the leaf shape has me wondering if the ID is accurate?…I’m trying to make sure my environment is right; I noticed the baby leaves only were abruptly falling off last week, having not appeared sickly beforehand. I moved him to a location with a bit more light this week. Soil still feels fairly moist. There’s new buds all over (tried to capture example in photo) which makes me feel he’s at least half happy with me!🤞But before I follow any troubleshooting tips for peperomia I want to make sure the ID is correct. Thoughts? #PlantID #Peperomia

Dax arrived on Sunday and all the leaves are falling off, turning yellow or have black spots on them. I spoke with the company that I purchased from and they are going to replace it, but is there anything I can do to save it? #Ficus

A huge shout out to my #ficustriangularisvariegata on this #freshleaffriday! Photos of when I received it (thank you, @sarahsalith), then when I brought it in for winter, and now! Just a reminder that cutting plants back and giving them time pays off! I have lost track of all the growth points it has now. 12, maybe? If you look close in the photo you can see the bottom two leaves, then the four growth points above. Watching her all winter will be amazing! #ficus #ficusfam #ficusgang #ficusfriday #happyplants #plantfairygodmother #nevergiveup 🌱 #NewEnglandGregGang 🌱 #MaineGang 🌱 #ThePlantMompy

Is this sun damage or cold damage? I have it on my east facing porch and it gets morning sun. It did get into the upper 30’s, low 40’s a few nights. I just started caring for outdoor plants so this is new for me. #help #Ficus #FicusGang #FicusFam

Strange bumps keep appearing, are these caused by aphids? The bumps pop up on leaves and stems. I keep washing them off and spraying with neem oil almost daily, but they keep coming back. Plant is losing lots of leaves. Have been battling for months. #Ficus #ficus triangularis variegata

I'm sure this isn't actually desirable in a variegated plant 😂 but this one branch that sprouted white leaves on my ficus brightens my day whenever I pass by and spot it 💚🤍 #plantsmakepeoplehappy #variegatedplants
