How to fertilize Kalanchoe longiflora var. coccinea
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Kalanchoe longiflora var. coccinea after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

raise you hand ✋🏼 if you have what i like to call “seasonal plant depression”. i have not used this app since the leaves outside started to turn color😅 im fully aware that my houseplants require my help to stay alive…however, i can. not. stay motivated enough through the dark season of winter to keep up with them. i don’t know if it’s the lack of vitamin d or if my mind has been programmed to believe all things green must die in the winter. but every year, one of my plants surprises me with a resurrection that i’d never believe to be possible. lord behold, my kalanchoe who i started watering again like a week ago, has decided her will to live is stronger than my will to let her die 🙌🏼 here’s to a full summer (& hopefully winter if i can get my life together) of beautiful, healthy houseplants 🥲😍 #SucculentLove

Leggy kalanchoe trimming suggestions? I’ve wanted to trim this plant for a while but I’m struggling to decide where I want to cut it. Looking for suggestions and wondering what you guys would do in this situation? The longer I wait the taller it grows and it’s almost out of space😅 #Kalanchoe #SucculentSquad #Succulents

Need advice- new plant mom here #houghtonshybrid #Kalanchoe Worried my plant is not well.. when I got her the bottom leaves were slanted downwards so I was under the impression that was normal, but I became concerned when I saw the leaves on top were curling under like a scroll and also a different shade of green. Also, some of the tips of its leaves towards the bottom are burnt looking, even on the larger baby. What am I doing wrong? I thought I may have overwatered it at one point. The soil seems to be dry but I believe it’s damp at the bottom. Also, I have noticed some gnats buzzing around the soil, but I have recently sprayed neem on the plant and soil. Should I keep it directly under a grow light for 8 hours? Or is that too much? I am pretty sure I should replant it in a bigger, better draining pot, but what about the babies? Will they survive being re-potted? Do you let the babies continue to keep growing with the mom or are you supposed to take them out and plant in another pot? What type of soil do you recommend? I really love my plant baby and just want her to be healthy and happy so any helpful advice and or suggestions is much appreciated! Thank you :) #lovesuccs #GrowLights #NewPlantMom #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #SucculentLove #NewGrowth

My mom gifted this 'Kalanchoe Silver Spoons' to me and it needs some tlc She's not the best at picking healthy looking plants, but her heart is in the right place. My mom got this for me because she liked the way it looked. I didn't have the heart to tell her the poor thing was screaming for help. I gave her a good drink when I got her home because the whole plant slid right out of the pot when I tried to pull my moisture stick out. Got a good look at the roots. They have started to wrap around the outside of the soil where it meets the pot(u know what I mean). I'm aware it needs more sun. I have it in my south facing bedroom window. It's the only south window I have(as you can see by how crowded it is already). I fully intend to chop and prop, but should I go ahead and repot first so the roots of the mama plant can continue to spread out? Or chop first and leave the mama plant in the store bought soil for now? It's from Earl May garden center, so not nearly as neglected as a walmart succulent would be, but still in pretty rough shape. I already have a few leaves that I pulled from the soil that were already trying to root, so I grabbed those out and put them on my baby plate. Any and all advice on where to start and how to go about it would be great. This is the first Kalanchoe I've ever had, and I'm still really new to plants in general. 😊 #Kalanchoe #succulentlove #plantaddict
