Pomegranates are full of antioxidants that help you fight free radicals. Various studies have shown that consuming pomegranate lowers blood pressure, bad cholesterol, aids digestion and helps keep inflammation in check.

Why buy a seedling instead of a rooted plant?:

Seedlings have a complete root system that includes a tap root which helps the plant have better anchor to the soil, which will increase its vigor and growth.

You will have a tree like upward growth pomegranate tree instead of a bush type (lots of suckers) tree.

You might also get a new variety, however in our experience most seedling come true or very close to parent tree.

These are seedlings from a Wonderful pomegranate.

Disadvantages of buying a seedling:

Even though we have never had a pomegranate seedling that did not produce edible fruit before, it might be possible. there is no guarantee that the fruit will be edible. (you can always graft it in case you want something different).

It might take longer to fruit, for us they usually fruit at 5 years, so depending on the size you buy it might take two extra years to fruit as opposed to rooted or grafted pomegranate trees.
