Description: Trees up to 15 m high. Libidibia or Dividivi is a  tree-spreading spreading crown that can reach heights of up to 10 meters. The bole can be up to 35 cm in diameter and is typically short and crooked. In exposed regions, the tree is particularly vulnerable to wind training, which results in increasingly attractive examples with flat-topped crowns and leaning trunks. Divi-divi has long been used as a tanning material in Central America, and cultivation of it has now extended to various other nations, most notably India. In many tropical regions, it is used as a decorative plant and is occasionally still farmed for its tannins.
