  • Key identification features : A large prickly shrub. The prickles are hooked. Leaves are simple and opposite. Flowers are small in axillary clusters. Stamens are enclosed by the petals. Stigmas are hairy. Fruit is small (6 mm.), globose and smooth. Occassional in evergreen forests.
