Plinthus Fenzl 1839: 51; Verdoorn 1941: 177–179; Adamson 1961: 147–151; Friedrich 1970: 91–93; Hartmann 2001: 221–222 Typus P. cryptocarpus Fenzl Etym probably from the Greek for bricks, fire- or sunburnt, also indicating square shapes.
