  • Published:
Kew Bulletin Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The hitherto ‘doubtful species’ Strophanthus angusii from Zambia is described fully, based on material recently come to light, and turns out to be the same as a taxon from Congo-Kinshasa and Angola, S. vanderystii. Full data, an illustration and a conservation assessment are provided.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank Mr Andrew Angus for bringing the existence of the types to our notice, and for pointing out that Frank White would not confuse Strophanthus angusii with S. welwitschii; and Serena Williams of FHO for lending us the Angus and Holmes specimens.
