Abstract
The karanda is native and common throughout much of India, Burma and dry areas of Ceylon. The species was introduced into other countries in south east Asia – Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, South Vietnam and the Philippines and to East Africa and the new world. In Java, it has naturalised and run wild.
