I am a young Neo Caledonian graduate of a Master in Ecology and Population Biology. I am about to carry out a doctoral thesis in Ecology and Conservation Biology, specifically on the conservation of Flying foxes in New Caledonia, which will start in February 2017.
My professional goal is to be able to propose a quality profile serving research in applied ecology. Indeed, my ultimate goal is to participate, on my scale, at the development of my country in my field of competence. In practical terms, I would like to hold a decision-making advisor position for the management of biodiversity in New Caledonia and even in the Pacific, such as a research scientist or research engineer in conservation biology.
Enriched with my first professional experiences, I began to consolidate my theoretical achievements by several real situations.
Objectives of this year (of free time): Improve skills on QGIS, Improve mapping and use of different models on R and concepts on spatial databases (PostgreSQL software).
Supports in monitorings: Flying foxes and other bats (New Caledonian institute of Agronomy (IAC); Association for the Conservation of Bats in New Caledonia) - Sea birds (Research Institute for the Developpement (IRD); Mediteranean Institute of Biodiversity and Ecology marine and continental (IMBE)) - Fresh water (ECOTONE engineering consultants)
Support the teams: statistics, repport and field survey
