Citrus maxima — Pomelo tree

Citrus maxima, commonly known as pomelo, is a tropical citrus fruit tree that belongs to the Rutaceae family. It is the largest citrus fruit and is native to Southeast Asia. The pomelo tree is cultivated for its large, thick-skinned fruits, which are similar to grapefruits but typically larger in size.
The pomelo tree is an evergreen tree with glossy, dark green leaves. It can reach heights of up to 15 meters.

The pomelo fruit is large, ranging from the size of a cantaloupe to a watermelon. It has a thick, green or yellow rind that can be easily peeled away to reveal the juicy, sweet, and slightly tart flesh inside. The flesh is usually pale yellow, pink, or red, depending on the variety.

The pomelo fruit is commonly consumed fresh, and its segments can be added to salads or eaten on their own. The peel is used to make candied peel or marmalade. Pomelos are rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants.
