Recognition
  • a perennial, decumbent grass with creeping rhizomes and stolons that form dense mats of vegetation.
  • its leaves are up to 25 cm long, folded but becoming flat, soft, glabrous, and becoming coarse-textured with age.
  • its small seed-heads remain hidden within the leaf sheaths and seeds are rarely formed.
