Erect branched shrub l.5–2.5(–?4.5) m. tall. Stems at first pubescent with viscid tubercular-based hairs, sometimes peeling to leave a roughened surface. Leaves fasciculate, 18–26(–40)-foliolate; leaflets linear-oblong, 1.5–3.5 mm. long, 0.5–0.7 mm. wide, acute and mucronulate at the apex, obliquely rounded at the base, rather thick, imbricated, pubescent or glabrous, ciliolate; main nerve eccentric but not marginal, other venation prominent; petiole and rhachis together 0.4–0.8 cm. long; petiolules minute; stipules lanceolate, 3 mm. long, 0.5 mm. wide, acute, not appendaged, striate, at length falling. Inflorescences axillary, usually aggregated and forming a terminal panicle; rhachis 1.5–5 cm. long; peduncle 0.3–1.2 cm. long; pedicels 3 mm. long; bracts ovate, 3.5 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, bifid, striate, pubescent, soon deciduous; bracteoles lanceolate, 5.5 mm. long, 1.5 mm. wide, ciliolate, at length deciduous. Calyx slightly pubescent, 2-lipped; lips ovate or oblong, 7–10 mm. long, 2.2–5 mm. wide, one slightly to deeply emarginate, the other slightly trifid. Standard yellow or orange, sometimes lined with purple or red, violin-shaped, 1.2–1.5 cm. long, 0.5–1.1 cm. wide; wings yellow or orange; keel-petals green or yellow, not laciniate. Pod of 1 or 2 articles joined by a narrow neck; articles elliptic, with upper edge almost straight and lower edge strongly curved, 7.5–10 mm. long, 5.6–7 mm. wide, compressed, margined, glabrous, reticulately venose, later minutely verruculose. Seeds brown, ellipsoid-reniform, compressed, longest dimension 5 mm., shorter dimension 3.5 mm., 1.5 mm. thick; hilum small, round, eccentric.
