Much branched viscid aromatic annual (? sometimes short-lived perennial) herb; stems erect, trailing or scrambling, up to 1 m tall, finely puberulous and with usually dense thin glossy white pilose hairs up to 4 mm long, with scattered stalked capitate glands. Leaves with petiole 1.4–2.2 cm long; lamina ovate-oblong, largest 2.5–5.2≈4.5–9.5 cm, apex acute with an obtuse tip, base cuneate, margin entire to slightly crenate, beneath puberulous with long thin hairs and with scattered broad hairs, above subglabrous. Panicle rather narrow, 10–20 cm long, occasionally with vegetative growth continuing at apex; indumentum as stems; primary bracts as leaves, from leaf-size down to 8≈6 mm near apex, indumentum as leaves or denser and with capitate glands; secondary bracts elliptic to orbicular, 2–10≈2–6 mm; pedicels 0.5–4 mm long, puberulous and with capitate glands. Calyx puberulous, with long pilose hairs and with usually numerous stalked glands; lobes linear, tapering or spathulate, ventral and lateral 9–14 mm long, dorsal 14–18 mm long. Corolla blue to purple, 32–40 mm long, finely puberulous outside; tube 13–15 mm long; lower lip 20–25 mm long, with long stiff hairs in central part, lobes ovate, 3–5 mm long; anthers 4–5 mm long, glabrous; staminodes 3–4 mm long. Capsule 13–18 mm long, the valves 2–3 mm wide, finely glandular-puberulous in apical half and ± scattered non-glandular hairs. Seed ± 1.5 mm long.
