Liane with young branchlets tomentellous, tawny-yellow; mature branch-lets sparsely puberulous to glabrescent. Leaves with yellowish-tomentellous petiole 0.8–1.5 cm. long; blade elliptic, rounded at base, more or less rounded to obtuse at apex, 3.5–7 cm. long, 2.5–4.5 cm. wide, sparsely puberulous except for the densely puberulous to tomentellous nerves, sometimes glabrescent on both sides. Male inflorescences of 2–4-flowered condensed cymules, solitary or paired; peduncles 0.5–3 mm. long or less; pedicels absent. Male flowers with 9 sepals, the 3 outer ones ovate-triangular, 1.5 mm. long and 1 mm. wide, the 3 median suboblong, 2–2.5 mm. long and 1 mm. wide, all rusty-puberulous, the 3 inner ovate-elliptic, 4.5 mm. long and 1.5–2 mm. wide, glabrescent; petals 6, 0.7 mm. long, 0.7–1 mm. wide; synandrium 25–30-locular, 3.5–4 mm. long, on a stipe 1.5 mm. long. Female flowers solitary; pedicels 0.5–2.5 mm. long; carpels 3–6, 1.5–2.5 mm. long, densely puberulous, yellowish. Drupes unknown. Fig. 1, p. 3.
