Information
Densely tufted perennial up to 1.2 m high. Racemes 2–4, 10–20 cm long. Spikelets 2-flowered; glumes 2–5 mm long; lemma 3–4 mm long, shortly ciliate on the nerves, with an awn 2.5–4 cm long, the awns at length characteristically delicately braided.
Range
C2; S1–3 East Africa southwards to Zimbabwe.
Altitude range
60–180 m.
