Distribution of this plant given in publications does not include the location where this observation was made, i.e. in city of Pretoria, Gauteng Province, South Africa. The species prefers sandy soil and semi-arid environment, i.e. unlike where this observation was made on a sandy clay loam soil, and average annual rainfall 750 mm. Has become a "new" weed in crops in certain parts of South Africa..
