Local harmfulness
French Guiana: Hyptis atrorubens is a very common weed in wet pastures. It is present in 50% of the plots with an average cover of 20%, but can reach 70% locally in very degraded pastures. It is rather rare in cultivated areas (market gardening, arboriculture) but can be abundant in some poorly maintained market gardening areas, rather at the edge of the plot.
