The native range of this species is NE. Tropical Africa, Arabian Peninsula, S. Pakistan to India. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarily in the subtropical biome. It is has environmental uses and social uses, as animal food, a poison, a medicine and invertebrate food and for fuel and food.
