Aloe spicata

This aloe species is native to the northeastern part of South Africa, as well as neighboring countries to the north and east. It is in the sessile-flowered group, characterized by small cup-like flowers that lack pedicels (the pedicel is the stalk of an individual flower), often with a large dollop of dark nectar within, as can be seen here. Though this species develops a stem, it never gets very tall.
