  • Description: Under shrubs. Leaves 1-foliolate, ovate to elliptic. Flowers white, fascicled in terminal and axillary, racemes. Pods moniliform, reticulate, slightly pubescent with hooked hairs, constricted in ventral suture.
  • Habit: Shrub
  • Habitat: Moist deciduous forests and forest plantations, also in the plains
  • Flowering & Fruiting: October-December

  • Parts used: Whole plant
  • Properties & Uses: Aphrodisiac, carminative, constipating, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and expectorant. Roots are used for the treatment of cardiac disorders, fever, cough, gout, inflammations, asthma, bronchitis and dysentery.
  • Systems of Medicines: Ayurveda, Folk, Unani, Homeo, Tibetan.
  • Traditional Uses:The crushed fresh root juice is taken internally to cure vomiting.
