The beauty of nature captured.

Chinese Violet (Asystasia intrusa)

ImageImage

Commonly known as Chinese Violet,  this tropical shrub can grow up to 2meters tall.  It is often used as hedge and garden center because of its height and bushy foliage.  It bears small, lilac, cylindrical flowers proliferously at the tip of the stem creating a sea  of green dotted with violets.  A closer look  at the flowers  would show the hairy surface outside and the presence of  white margins in its petals.

The  stem and leaves of this plant are said to be edible, especially  in areas where it is endemic.
