#10 : Baobab Grandidiera, Madagascar
In Morondava, on the west bank of Madagascar, there is Baobab Avenue. These huge, ancient trees grow along the road, creating an amazing landscape, especially at sunset. It is no coincidence that Baobab Avenue is one of the most photographed landscapes of Madagascar. Baobabs reach up to 30 meters in height and can be up to a thousand years old. The alley is not officially a national park, which means that the trees are still threatened by agriculture developing in this area. Baobabs in Morondawa is a remnant of the growing rainforest in the area, which were cut by the local population.
