Raven Zamioculcas zamiifolia (ZZ Plant)

The ZZ plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) gets its common name from its botanical name. As Zamioculcas zamiifolia was long and difficult to say, many nursery workers simply shortened it to ZZ. Often known for its super easy care, the ZZ is one of the best additions for a new plant parent. The Raven ZZ is a less commonly seen version of the green ZZ plant. Raven ZZ plants leaves start green and as the leaf matures turns black. 

Light: ZZ plant will grow best in bright indirect light but will tolerate lower light spaces. These plants are very forgiving. Try to keep them out of too much direct sunlight although they can withstand short amounts of direct light. 

Water: Under-waterers rejoice! ZZ's with thrive on neglect. Let these plants be until their soil has completely dried out and then give them a good deep watering. One way to easily kill a ZZ plant is to over water so let these guys be. 

Humidity: No need to add additional humidity to your space for a ZZ plant. They will do just fine in a normal household environment.
