Physostegia virginiana 'Vivid' is an upright, clump-forming, rhizomatic cultivar of obedient plant, also called false dragonhead, noted for its dense spikes of vivid pink snapdragon-like flowers, which bloom from the bottom-up from June to September. Obedient plant grows from one to two feet tall, and spreads to form clumps of about 18" wide.

Obedient plant draws its name from the behavior of the individual flowers on the spikes which, when adjusted, will temporarily stay at whatever angle they were adjusted to. Physostegia virginiana 'Vivid' also makes for great cut flowers.
