Wonderful mostly solitary stemless to short stemmed 'medium-small' aloe with glaucous, flat, bendable, often spotted leaves of pale blue-green, nearly white, pinkish etc., spread out in a flattened rosette with leaves suddenly turning upright, to almost folding in on themselves. Namibian aloe primarily, but present in several southern African countries from Angola to South Africa. Sun and heat loving indeed, but pretty easy to grow and some mod cold tolerance (down around 25F). Flowering seems to depend a lot of sunny position, with none of my shaded plants ever flowering. Flowers yellow, orange or red in winter

I thought "Not much of a flower"..then saw Melt's plant. New ball game. I like the pearlescent color the plant gets in sun too.
Hayward Ca. 75-80f summers,60f winters.

It hasn't offset for me at all! I know Arid Lands grows it, though they don't currently have any listed. I don't immediately see any on ebay or etsy either...but I bet if you keep your eyes open you'll be able to find one.

I am growing mine in light shade for several years. No flowers yet. I am in the Phoenix area. How much sun can it really take? I love the leave colors and don't want to ruin them by too much sun.

Mine's in full sun in Tucson, so not quite Phoenix levels of sun and heat.
