About this item

Feature. Curved lovegrass is an attractive silvery gray ornamental grass with curved leaves and spikes of flower pannicles, which shimmers in the sunlight in summer. They look good most of the year, flowering in summer and the dried-out leaves and flowers retain their shape in winter.
Mature size. Catalina lovegrass can form tufts of stems up to 3 to 5 ft tall. The tufts may reach a diameter of 1.25 ft.
Easy to grow. Catalina lovegrass is drought and heat tolerant and fully hardy. It is easy to germinate and fast-growing. Once planted can live for years with a minimal amount of care.
Sow. Sow in early spring to summer sparingly on the surface of moist seed compost. Press the seeds gently into the surface of the compost and do not cover. Keep at around 20°C and seedlings emerge in 2-6 weeks.
Use. Africa lovegrass looks great in a border as edging and as stabilizing ground cover. It is also used to make winter forage, baskets, brooms, hats, ropes, and candles.
